UNIDO and Hydrogen Europe Sign Joint Declaration

In a landmark event, UNIDO and Hydrogen Europe, the leading industry association representing the hydrogen sector, signed a Joint Declaration to strengthen the collaboration and accelerate the advancement of hydrogen technologies. The signing ceremony took place on 27 June 2023 before Hydrogen Europe’s General Assembly and Summer Market.

UNIDO and Slovene Enterprise Fund partner to advance hydrogen use in industry

On 17 November 2023, UNIDO signed a Joint Declaration with the Slovene Enterprise Fund. The objective of this Partnership is to promote the uptake of hydrogen for industrial applications in developing countries and emerging economies.

UNIDO Hosts Successful ISO TC 197 Hydrogen Technologies Plenary Week 13-17 November 2023

Vienna, November 17, 2023 - The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) successfully hosted the Technical Committees of the ISO TC 197 Hydrogen Technologies Plenary Week from November 13 to 17, 2023, at the Vienna International Centre (VIC). The event, held within the framework of the Global Programme for Hydrogen in Industry, brought together more than 150 global experts to deliberate on critical issues surrounding hydrogen standards.

UNIDO’s GEF-8 Global Clean Hydrogen Programme

UNIDO’s ‘Global Clean Hydrogen Programme’ (link) for 14.9 million USD and 141.5 million USD co-financing was approved in early February 2024 during the 66th GEF Council Meeting under the GEF-8 funding cycle. This follows shortly after another UNIDO project was approved under GEF-8 for ‘Green Hydrogen Energy Application Project’ (link) in China for $17.8 million USD and $178.6 million USD co-financing.
