In order to leverage the potential of the hydrogen economy, developing countries need efficiently coordinate strategic and implementation plans and consolidate resources.
The development of a hydrogen economy represents a promising and multi-faceted endeavor that requires close cooperation and coordination between various stakeholders at international, regional, and national levels. It is essential to provide a voice to all relevant partners: ministries, academic and research organizations, industry and business, financial institutions, international organizations, etc.
In its pursuit for an inclusive and just hydrogen economy, UNIDO favours multistakeholder engagement to. Through its Global Programme for Hydrogen in Industry, UNIDO maintains regular communication with relevant stakeholders from the Member States through its Development Dialogue. This collaboration facilitates a co-understanding of the emerging economies' requirements and fosters constructive dialogue and information exchange among them. UNIDO also participates in various international initiatives such as the Hydrogen Breakthough Agenda with an aim to coordinate efforts on effectively resolving the bottlenecks of the hydrogen development.
